My amazing first grade students students are very caring and eager to learn. The students love to be active and engaged in learning. They are always looking to give hugs and make others smile.
The class is made up of many underprivileged students who come from low income and refuge families.
The school is a charter school that qualifies for 100% free lunch and breakfast for the students. Many students in the school are learning English as a Second Language.
They love hands-on learning and using manipulative during math and reading. Having active centers always gets them excited for learning. Their favorite center is the computer and they are excited when getting to go on the computers. The students love when we can incorporate art and music into the lessons or when they get to do hands on science experiments.
My Project
My classroom needs iPads to benefit student learning. Students will use the iPads during centers to have individualized learning. Using the iPads students will use literacy or math apps to practice skills in a fun way. Making instruction fun is a benefit of having iPads in the classroom.
The iPads will help differentiate and individualize student learning.
The iPads can support students in improving skills they are struggling in. They will also be used as early finisher works so students can keep learning after completing class work before their peers.
Students can also use the iPads to listen to stories, research topics they are interested in, and make presentations to their peers. The screen protectors will help keep the iPads in good shape while the students are using them.
