My students are active, curious and so kind! I am the proud special education teacher of students who have moderate cognitive impairments. Many of my students also have Autism. This group of all boys love to run, jump, and play.
Since my students are always on the move, they learn best with hands-on activities.
Technology is very important in my classroom as many of my students use technology for communication. I learn so much from my students. They teach me to take each day as it comes and to not sweat the small stuff. They love laughing and the occasional dance party during morning meeting! I feel so thankful each day for this group!
My Project
Technology plays an important roll in my classroom. Many of my students use technology for communication. My students are very familiar with iPads, as for many of them it's their only method of communicating. Not only can these iPads be used for communication, but they can also be a tool during lessons.
Technology is an interest for all of my students!
Due to varying ability levels in my classroom, it can be hard to come up with lessons that reach all my students' needs. However, incorporating technology will make that a little bit easier. There are many apps and programs that are tailored to children with disabilities. These iPads can create more communication within my classroom as well as serve as tools to help my students grow and learn.
