My fourth grade students are energetic, smart, funny, and ready to explore and learn. We are an Expeditionary Learning school, so hands-on projects and group settings are key to student engagement. As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Regardless, my fourth graders are enthusiastic and deserve the best learning experiences out there! My goal is to provide them just this.
The students in my classroom have so much potential and a real love for their teachers!
My Project
I have very eager and excited learners in my fourth grade class. They love technology, but are lacking access to all of the wonderful features and tools the internet provides for learners. Having four tablets would allow me to set up a technology corner in the classroom, where students could continue practicing essential reading and math skills in a fun way!
I know the students would be motivated by this addition to the classroom!
They could go on fantastic apps like "Story Bird" and create their own published stories. They could read all-level books on reading websites such as "Epic Books". They could research events about the Revolutionary War and add it to their research projects. They could practice much needed math facts through games... the possibilities are endless!
