Ms. Wallace from East Orange NJ is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need tablets so they can engage interactively during lessons.

The 4th and 5th grade students can't get enough of their handheld devices. During down time of the last few days I must have heard, "Can we take out gadgets?" a dozen times! I want to foster their desire to stay connected with the world wide web in an educational manner.
My students are tech savvy, fun loving, ambitious performers!
They are the 4th and 5th graders of a pre-k - 5 performing arts school in the heart of an urban area. Many of them attend school with a lot on their shoulders, too much for their age, but they persevere and give their all once they arrive.
We all are aware at how technology has changed the way we learn, play and socialize. I want my students to know that we can use technology in the classroom to learn, play and socialize too! So often they are told to put their phones away or to get off a certain site. If we give them the tools to use technology in meaningful engaging ways it will benefit them inside and outside of the classroom. In the past month or so I have learned several new ways to keep my students involved with just an app! They can ask questions about lessons, study and review for quizzes, give me instant feedback for data in a manner they will enjoy! We do not have consistent access to tech in our classrooms, so these tablets will bring consistency. I would love to have a class set or at least a half so they can partner share, but we are starting with 3. I can use them in small groups or for review competitions at the end of lessons with teams! I am so excited to implement tech daily into my lessons!
Donations to this project will increase my students' desire to come to class!
It will give them even more of a reason to look forward to ELA. They get to mesh their love of technology and learning. Who would have it any other way?
