Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember having to go to the library to do research on a school assignment? Do you remember looking through tons of books and magazines to find the needed information. Since the advent of the Internet, the majority of research can now be done with a device the size of one textbook.
My school has students who are predominantly from lower income families.
Many do not have access to the latest technology and are not aware of the uses for computer software and programs. If we don't give them the opportunity to use productive software and programs at this age, they will grow up to fear or shy away from technology.
My Project
I believe the tablet is the tool of the future. By using a tablet on a daily basis, I will expose my students to it's convenience and productivity. It can be used to take attendance, show students their individual grades, and present online textbooks and educational videos. Tablets can also be used to download applications that use simulations to help students solve real life problems.
Many students use technology at home for entertainment.
They need to appreciate the benefits of technology in the school and workplace to increase efficiency and productivity. We can't expect them to innovate without first exposing them to innovations.
