I am one of three kindergarten teachers in a close knit K-5 community school. We strive to provide enriching experiences so that each and every child can reach their academic, social, and emotional potential, regardless of their socioeconomic status. I am proud to watch my students grow and learn every day. My students are a bright, inquisitive bunch of 5 and 6 year olds. Their unique personalities keep me smiling every day. My students are excited to explore the world around them, and absolutely love hands on experiences!
My Project
The ways young citizens of the 21st century will work, interact, and communicate will continue to evolve, and they will need to be fluent in the types of thinking that will drive many of the tools and services of tomorrow. To do this, my project will enrich our curriculum by incorporating several age appropriate STEM activities into our daily routine!
You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.

My Students will work with the robot balls in small groups to learn the basics of coding through active play. There’s no better way to learn programming literacy for my kindergartners than in this fun and engaging way!
My classroom received Osmo Genius kits through a previous donorschoose project. We have multiple activity sets (“games”) for students to work with, but need additional bases so that more children can simultaneously participate. They LOVE using osmo to practice numbers and words!
Magnetic Blocks STEM Toys , Write and Wipe Center, Create-A-Path Magnetic Center, and Engineer-A-Coaster Activity Kit are all magnetic activities that will allow students to practice color matching, patterns, shape identification and building techniques. Students can design and build, test and configure anything they can imagine, and will increase coordination skills and critical thinking.
