This is my first year as an official teacher. I'm so excited! I so enjoy pouring my passion into each one of my first grade students. I student taught at this school and felt at home as soon as I stepped foot on campus. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted my teaching career to begin here.
I truly believe each one of my students serves a unique purpose, and that each student will bring a different learning aspect into my classroom.
I serve a very diverse group of students—serving 26% more diverse students than most schools in our state. More than half of our students are eligible for free lunch. We serve approximately 700 students from different socioeconomic backgrounds.
Our mission is to work alongside our global community to promote a safe, respectful, and challenging environment where learners explore opportunities to change tomorrow. Our motto is "Learning Today to Change Tomorrow!"
My Project
Now - a - days, almost everything is done through the use of technology. Our school district is 1 to 1 once students are in third grade - this means they'll each receive their own Chromebook. While they're in first grade, we have 4 Chromebooks per teacher. In order to meet the needs of all students, an extra Chromebook in the classroom would be very beneficial.
By being able to utilize technology in the classroom, my students will be able to explore learning in a way they truly enjoy.
Students will have access to educational websites and will be able to increase their knowledge through the use of technology.
