My students need iPads to be able to access curriculum that can be presented online. To be able to use technology in the classroom and to be able to learn academic skills through educational apps.

My Students
Our classroom is very academic with the students studying history, science, math, reading, and life skills. I want my students to feel successful in class and that means having them interacting as much as possible instead of the teacher doing all the talking.
I work with students with special needs, more specifically intellectual disabilities.
They range from 5th grade to 8th grade. Although they are all at different levels, they are all capable of completing their assignments with support or independently.
Our school includes students who are eligible for free or reduced price lunch and breakfast and kids that bring their own lunches from home.
My Project
Having a set of iPads in the classroom will allow students to be able learn functional academic skills through the use of educational apps. Students will be able to use the apps to practice the skills they have learned and the apps will help reinforce the skills as well.
These resources will help students build independent working skills, as well as, helping them learn technology skills that they will need to be successful in the real world.
Being able to use technology in the classroom is important as we move through the 21st century. The use of technology skills are essential for students with special needs especially in helping them find jobs in the future.
