The students in my class are unlike any other. About half of them come from low income households, and this can have huge impact on their academics. They come to class ready to learn, and cannot wait to see what new information they will learn on a daily basis. I am privileged to be able to create lessons that engage them in different ways.
They want to be engaged; they crave it on a daily basis, and I want to satisfy their hunger for knowledge as best I can.
I want to be the teacher who stands out, who inspires, and who challenges them to do and be better every day. I want to help them realize their potential, be confident in themselves as students, and be successful academically.
My Project
My students need access to computers, like these Chromebooks, for so many different reasons. Whether that reason is so that they can practice their typing skills prior to end-of-year state assessments, work collaboratively within their groups on class assignments, or receive educational accommodations on an individual basis, these Chromebooks will help my students thrive in the classroom.
These Chromebooks will allow my students to have daily access to necessary, educationally-appropriate technology.
They will be able to research information, watch educationally appropriate videos, listen to audio versions of the texts we read in class, and collaborate on class projects. These Chromebooks will allow my students to work both individually, and within a collaborative group setting.
