This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever tried to work on a laptop that freezes every five minutes, making it practically impossible to complete a task? And to make matters worse, try sharing that technology with twenty other students and a teacher? This is a daily struggle in our classroom.
We are a class of emerging readers and writers who face many challenges, which we will be able to overcome with generous help from compassionate people like you.
Our school is considered high poverty with over ninety percent of our students qualifying for free or reduced meals. In our dual immersion classroom, we learn to read, write, and most importantly, to think in both English and Spanish.
My Project
It is my goal to help my students to develop technological skills. It has been difficult for my students to practice these skills with the damaged, dated laptop that we are currently using. We will be using the Acer Notebook for a variety of purposes across the curriculum spanning almost all subjects. Students will use the laptops to access research websites, practice spelling words, play math games, and make their own creative writing pieces. Having these two laptops in our classroom will benefit these students in numerous and valuable ways.
Technology is absolutely vital in today's world.
My students need these technological skills to compete in the society we are living in. Please help me provide my students with the opportunities that they need to be successful.
