Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in high school in Florida. They are part of my computer classes. More than a third of the students from my school come from low-income households. At our school, we strive to include everyone. The class has females, students from diverse backgrounds, and students in the Exceptional education program. Many students in our program are learning about computer science for the first time.
Every student deserves an opportunity and exposure to computer science.
We are a school in Homestead, Florida. We are a Title I high school located in an agricultural community. We offer virtual reality Unity coding classes, and information technology classes.
My Project
The materials I am requesting would be used in our computer science outreach program. We would use it to get students excited about using scratch coding as an extension for drone operations. The students would use Scratch coding to operate drones and we can also implement lessons in Aviation. The goal is to get kids excited about computer science. The project is all about learning how to program in a fun way. Drones are involved in cutting edge technology and giving kids exposure to coding and drones is an incredible way to think about future careers in STEM. Programming with passion.
