Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a low-income/high poverty school district in South Texas. With the current Covid-19 Pandemic, students log in at home eager and ready to interact and learn. My students encounter themselves with limited resources, yet they try their best to learn, discover, and explore in my digital classroom.
My preschoolers love storytime, pretend play, and hands-on activities the most!
Discovering new things as they play to learn is very important and enjoyable to me. At four and five years of age, they're full of raw emotions that I treasure and protect alike.
My Project
These resources are needed to create teacher made books and book covers. During this time of distance learning, many students don't have access to a variety books or lack them all together. These bright paper and laminating pouches will allow me to create vivid booklets to share with the students at home and the paper cutter will be a lifesaver towards all the cutting needed to do these books. Providing the parents with much needed resources is a high priority for teachers during this crucial time to avoid a large academic gap.
