This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
For all of my students, Pre-K is their very first experience in a school, and I am their first teacher. I want my students to develop a deep love of learning. My school serves almost all low-income students, with many students speaking English as their second language.
I believe it is my duty as a teacher to help close the achievement gap.
One of the ways to do that is to make school a fun and inviting place. However, this requires resources that go beyond my teacher's income. I love my scholars, and they deserve the very best.
My Project
My PreK class is in need of books! Some of my books include: Calm Down Time and Sharing Time, to teach my students positive ways to self regulate their bodies!
I am in need of books that will foster social and emotional skills for my PreK students!
Books are amazing tools for young learners as they promote various skills in an engaging and fun manner. PreK scholars are working so hard on learning what to do with their BIG feelings. Books are perfect companions for teaching different skills such as what to do when you are scared, how to handle anger, and why it is important to take naps.
