Help me give my students the best virtual learning experience possible during this global pandemic. With an extra monitor and wireless earphones, I'll be able to better move around my living and demonstrate movements.
I will be teaching grades 9-12 at a charter school in West Town, Chicago.
My students are high schoolers coming from 40 different zip codes around Chicago!
All 635 students take PE and each student will be assigned to one of the three PE teachers. Approximately 77% of the students I teach are LatinX and 17% are African American.
About me: I played DII college soccer, I have completed 5 marathons, 7 half ironman and 1 full ironman. I have my CrossFit Level 1 coaching certificate and enjoy competing in local CrossFit competitions when we aren't in the middle of a pandemic!
After teaching math for 12 years, I have transitioned to teaching my true passion which is physical education. However, my very first year teaching PE will now be virtual! I want to be able to provide the best physical education experience for my students from my living room, and I'm lacking a few supplies that would help me immensely.
I will be using both of these resources as I teach my eight PE classes from my living room.
I will set up the dual monitors so that I can display the work out and timer to my students on one screen and then view the students completing the workout on my other screen. The wireless earphones will help me become more mobile as I move around my living demonstrating movements. I wasn't planning to teach PE from my home, but I want to make sure I give my students the best possible experience given the circumstances.
