Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Coming out of two years that have rocked the educational world, my colleagues and I have been working hard to reteach students how to interact with other humans. I teach middle school students, and although I love them, they need reminders about manners during the best of times. After two years of limited interactions, my students need help regaining confidence in how to interact socially.
Playing games is a low-risk activity that I have found helpful in both encouraging student social interactions, and teaching students how to have positive interactions with each other.
I am asking for assistance in purchasing additional cards and dice for the game Star Wars Destiny. I have been working to build a large enough collection of cards that many students can play the game with each other, and have enough cards to choose from to keep the game interesting. As the game is not being published anymore, I am trying to collect cards before the available supply is gone.
