Teaching Kindergarten Students about Diversity and Back to School Supplies!
Help me give my students Diversity Activity Bundle, Same But Different book, jumbo pencils, magnetic number counters, and more to help support learning for my unit that I have created on racism.
The kindergarten students in my classroom come from a community of diverse learners from many social and cultural backgrounds. Our school is an Expanded Learning Time School (ELT) and a Title I school. Many of the students in the classroom have never attended preschool. I have many English Language Learners in my classroom.
The students are bright, eager, and excited to learn.
It is exciting to see the looks on their faces when I read them a story and the passion they have to learn. Many of my students have already faced hardships in their lives.
My Project
I have created a week-long unit on racism for my kindergarten classroom. I will use the book, and arts and crafts supplies to support my students' learning about diversity and racism. I am very excited to present the unit that I researched and created.
Racism needs to be stopped, and I'm committed to having that "difficult" conversation with my students.
I'm very proud of the unit I have created and hope to make a difference in the world.
The pencils, birthday crowns, and bracelets will be used for students. The ten frames will support our math lessons remotely or at school.
