Technology makes learning fun! Help me teach my students important economic concepts with iPads!
My school is in a progressively growing rural community with total enrollment in Kindergarten through 5th grade of a little over 550 students.
The town population is approximately 66,881, with 17 elementary schools in the district. The diversity at our school comes from the economic levels with approximately 45% of our students receiving free and reduced lunches. I teach in a self-contained Kindergarten grade class. I have twenty-two students.
My Project
My students will use the iPad as a form of technology to learn important economic vocabulary. My students will see economics come to life through these real experiences. Students will be taught by using different apps on the iPad to understand how economics is everywhere, such as the Cupcake app that I will use to teach my students about productive and human resources. Students will gain the awareness of how economics is in everything we do and that every decision has a cost. Students will be able to take pictures of economics around them using the camera. These pictures will be used to make vocabulary cards to reinforce their learning.
Your donation will make a difference in my class by providing my students with iPads to use to discover the economics around them.
This will help engage my students in skills that will prepare them to be successful in a global economy. Using different types of technology, they will share what they know with other students in our school!
