My students love to read! We read constantly and I have trouble keeping our library stocked with new materials. They have trouble looking at our big books during lessons, as my current easel won't hold a book or eraser. We would love a new easel to use for lessons and to hold our favorite big books!
My students come from all different backgrounds!
They are a great group who really enjoy reading and learning. They came to me with a natural love of reading, with a voracious appetite for new material to engage in. My school is a high-poverty school in a high-poverty school district. My students don't have all of the amenities that middle class to upper class schools have readily available, but we do the best we can. I teach an inclusion classroom, so we are on all different levels, but they love working together as a group to fill each other's backpack of knowledge. They love to be engaged in the lessons and this project will enable us to do even more during whole group time, and even during interventions. Please consider making their days this school year even brighter by donating to my classroom. We really appreciate it!
My Project
My students will be able to use this easel on a daily basis. It is perfect for using magnetic math manipulatives; we would be able to write and wipe it easily during our writing block, and it would even hold our favorite big books. Our current easel is made from scrap wood and shower board. It does not hold a book easily and does not erase fully. They would be able to see our read-alouds so much better!
These donations will improve the quality of my classroom, by enabling all of my students to see what is being presented to them.
This will help them to become more fluent readers and aid in their comprehension of the materials.
