Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a room full of eager 1st graders who love to learn & love to learn especially through literature. Our district services a very high percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. They are the sweetest kids ever!
My Project
My goal is to show that even though we are all different, we are all accepted! Diversity is a something we all need to cherish and we should always celebrate one another. First graders are 5, 6 and 7 year olds who are easily influenced and I want their 1st grade year to be shaped by the literature I will be introducing them to. I want my students to enjoy learning about cultural diversity and to embrace their background and others as well! This is the perfect time in their lives to open minds and open hearts!
