Teaching Character and Emotional Regulation Through Books--- What Fun!
Help me give my students some social-emotional books such as It's Hard to Be A Verb that I can use to help explain their emotions and feelings and how they can handle them in an appropriate way.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the Pre-Kindergarten-1st Grade Counselor at a Title I school. My students are so diverse and unique and even though they may come from low-income families, they don't let their life circumstances stand in the way of their eagerness to learn.
My students are a diverse group of tenderhearted, open-minded, and energetic individuals who come to school eager to learn everything they can about the world they live in.
I want to be able to give them as many tools and strategies as possible to help them develop and grow into students of good morals and character, while at the same time learning how to manage their feelings and emotions.
My Project
Teaching good character traits such as honesty, integrity, fairness, responsibility, caring, and good citizenship will be more interactive and fun through the use of books that have been written to engage our youngest students.
Explaining emotions and feelings to my little students with fun, interactive stories will have a more positive impact on my students as well.
I really need to build my library so that I have some tools and strategies to pass on to my students to help them learn how to develop lifelong character traits while also learning how to handle the social-emotional aspect of school, friendships, and the emotions and feelings that they will encounter on a daily basis.
