I work at a school for students with significant mental health needs. Despite their significant mental health needs, they are a very inquisitive group with a variety of talents. There are mathematicians, engineers, artists, programmers, writers, athletes and actors/actresses all in my school and classroom.
I love using hands-on approaches during as many of my lessons as possible and to integrate opportunities for them to show their strengths across the curriculum.
When they are given these opportunities my students truly shine and behavior issues go down significantly.
My Project
My students are eager to learn and love when their learning is both hands on and applies to real-world situations. I would like to have additional materials to help my students learn about how to manage their future finances.
These books and teaching guides will help me to better understand and prepare to teach my students the financial skills they will need to be responsible for adulthood.
These materials will allow me to teach these skills in a way that is both hands on and fun. So many individuals head into adulthood and end up having no savings and massive debt. I want to ensure that my students have the skills to avoid this and these materials will help.
