As Dr. Seuss says, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” My students have such a zest for learning and love to learn in so many different ways.
I teach 13 amazingly smart kindergarten, first, and second grade students with autism and other disabilities.
My students benefit immensely from learning using a variety of modalities, specifically, my students benefit from instruction utilizing interactive technology. My goal is to create an environment for my students that is technology rich to support their learning and give them the opportunity to access curriculum subjects and content in a way that will help set them up for success.

Putting technology in the hands of my students with exceptional needs encourages them to take control of their learning.
They will use these iPads to explore and learn in a modality of learning that research has shown to be effective. It provides them the opportunity to learn cooperatively with their typical peers and provides them the opportunity to be independent and empowers them to demonstrate their knowledge in a way that makes sense to them while having fun learning at the same time.
