I need books that I can gain knowledge from and reference for years to come. These books are very valuable to my continued learning and growing as a professional.
My classroom is a special place. It contains the personalities, knowledge and wonder of all my students. Each student brings a certain magic that makes this small space a place we look forward to coming to each day. My students are fourth graders who live on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Northwest Montana. We live a life that is different than most, yet we are similar to so many other fourth graders.
I believe my students will be a positive spark in our world with the knowledge and confidence I hope to give them in our classroom.
My students want to be seen, loved, and cherished. They want to achieve amazing things. Many of my students, though, come to school with trauma that I can't erase. That trauma can stop them from believing in themselves and their dreams. I want my students to take the obstacles that they carry around and use them to climb to the top.
My Project
I will grow professionally with the new and updated information I gain in these books. I love to learn new, researched-based ways of connecting with my students. Using these materials will help me to learn new perspectives.
I believe it is imperative to always be learning and growing as a professional teacher.
My students deserve the best I can bring them every day. I can give them my best when I am enriching my life with knowledge and insight gained from others in my profession. It is important to show my students that learning never stops!
