This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students enrolled in Sci-Tech's Early Education & Care (Teacher Training Program) are amazing, creative and passionate young adults heading for bright careers in early childhood education! My program has an onsite preschool classroom, where my students work 1:1 with our preschool students. Having these materials will enable my students to learn how to make fun sensory play materials such as playdough, slime and Oobleck for the preschool students. Making these play materials from scratch is far less expensive than buying in the store!

Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity that helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills--Sensory activities help our children to understand the world around them using the five senses; taste, touch, smell, site and hearing.
