Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember filling out boring worksheets and feeling like worksheets were never-ending? I want my students to be excited about coming to school, not dread it as a daily nightmare.
I want to inspire my 6th-grade students through fun engaging games and that will deepen their understanding of content and skills in all subject areas.
My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds, so it is of the utmost importance for students to see the relevance of what they are learning, to real-life experiences. It is critical that they feel engaged and excited about coming to school because they already face so many challenges. I am determined to give that to them. I know that inspiring students to learn and want to come to school daily will create life-long learners.
My Project
The items in this project will allow me to add fun and creative ways to review language arts and math content during centers or small group instruction. Many of my students struggle with math, grammar and reading comprehension skills and need daily practice. Games are popular and enable students to work on tasks at his or her level while also feeling independent.
If students are engaged and having fun, they will gain a deeper understanding of the content.
The spiral review and game bundles include varied opportunities to review skills for the entire school year. My students won't even realize they are learning. They will be begging me for more "play" time!
