My students learn in self-contained, special education classrooms within the public school district in Long Island, NY. They are a group of wonderful special needs students full of energy, passion, and joy.
My students are WONDERFUL!
Many of them are learning to use functional communication to become more independent. They are working extremely hard to express their basic wants and needs! I provide speech and language services to students in the speech therapy room. My students enjoy hands-on activities and rich sensory-rich experiences.
My Project
The gift cards for educational resources at Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to create individualized activities, work tasks, and visuals. My students with special needs have individualized education plans and specific goals that are created, based on individualized needs rather than a set curriculum. Because there is no set curriculum, materials need to be provided that differ from student to student and year to year. With these gift cards, I will be able to target my students' individualized education plan goals. I plan to use these gift cards to purchase the "No Prep Speech and Language Themed Bundle" to target a variety of goals throughout the year such as: plurals, past tense, synonyms/antonyms, and describing. I would also like to get the Basic conversation visual scripts for speech therapy, to target conversational speech, which can be very challenging for my students.
TPT gift cards will give my students beautiful and effective materials that target their individualized education plan goals, all while supporting other teachers.
