Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, our students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, my school is always looking to provide our students with meaningful learning experiences.
As Albert Einstein said, "The only source of knowledge is experience." Learning needs to be an active process.
It is my goal as an educator to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.
My Project
Workbooks are out of date before we even get to use them since education is constantly changing! As a result, I am requesting three gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers to buy resources for Science, Math, and Reading materials. It is crucial that I go beyond what the curriculum provides to reach all of my students needs.
Teachers Pay Teachers is an amazing website filled with so many differentiated educational resources that teachers have created for all subject areas.
These gift cards would allow me to buy interactive science notebooks, additional reading units, and math games just to name a few. Even though I am a 5th grade teacher, my students come in to my classroom with a wide range of abilities. It is my job to make sure that I reach all my students and Teachers Pay Teacher resources allow me to do just that!
