This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My first graders are amazing. My students come to class every day ready to tackle the given learning adventure. They want to be better readers, writers, scientists and mathematicians, to make their futures and our world brighter.
In my class, we are superheroes in training and work each day in Superhero mode.
My students come from a low-income area where many of them go without food, clean clothes, and the essentials on a daily basis. Our school is Title I where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
I am requesting the opportunity to attend the Pathfinders Institute summer professional development session on Coding as a Playground: ScratchJr + KIBO Robotics. This professional development will allow me to gain new strategies for teaching coding that I can implement in my classroom. I am confident that the knowledge I will gain from this professional development will help me to become an even more effective teacher that feels comfortable using technology with her students. The knowledge I will attain from this experience will benefit my students for years to come.
The knowledge gained from this unique experience will directly impact the success of my students.
Many of my students love using technology in the classroom and as an educator, I want to make sure that I can expose and engage them using technology. This professional development will allow me to add to my toolbox of strategies for helping my students make an impact on our world. Your generous donation will directly impact my students.
