Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school. My students face challenges every day in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they are so excited about school. School is a safe place for them, a place where no one can hurt them, physically or emotionally. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch because for many students, school is the only place where they will be able to eat.
Although odds may be against them, they have the perseverance to succeed in school.
They are some of the most resilient students and are ready to learn every day. My focus is to give them a rich learning environment with positive experiences and hope for their future. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
My Project
My students will use the folders daily. This will be the way I will communicate with parents from school to home. When the students get home, the parents will know what they could keep at home and what they are expected to bring back to school. Their parents could also write letters to the teacher to keep good communication open.
I believe my project will make a difference because communication with the parent or guardian is key to a child's education.These organizational folders are perfect for my students.
These Communicator Folders come pre-stamped with "Teachers....Parents Communicator" on the front cover. On the inside left pocket "Return to School". This is where students can keep homework or school notes. On the right pocket "Keep at Home". Here students can place work that must be kept home. Students will know what work stays home and what goes back to school with them.This folder helps with organization and communication between school and home!
