My class is a group of 26 rambunctious and intelligent kindergartners. We have a lot of energy and are eager to learn new things every day! My classroom is the first formal educational experience for many of my students. Each student comes from a very different background, creating a wonderful classroom community.
With 26 big personalities, smiles, and educational futures, my students are excited to learn and are ready to follow their dreams!
Many of my students receive a backpack of food at the conclusion of the week, as well as school uniforms and winter coats. Despite the adverse circumstances these children face each day, my kindergarten kiddos are motivated and ready to learn.
My Project
Incoming kindergarten students are quickly learning to read and write on their own. With triangle pencils, students have a stronger grip on their writing tool, allowing them to build their confidence in their handwriting and independence in this new, and very challenging skill!
Students also are learning to read, as well as speaking and listening skills.
As we implement new technology into the classroom and continue to be 1:1 with devices moving forward, all students will need quality headphones to assist in their learning.
As their teacher, I want to be flexible within my classroom, moving with necessary materials to help my students quickly and efficiently. With a mobile desk, I will be able to create a larger small group area, removing my stationary desk, to work with my students 1 on 1 and with their peers. By having a desk on wheels, I am able to quickly move to a student in need with tools in hand!
