My Students

I teach in a very diverse urban setting in the city of Pittsburgh. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. Half of my students did not attend a preschool program and were four at the start of the school year.

With such a wide range of academic abilities in our room, there is a need to Incorporate play and hands-on learning opportunities that enable all students to learn through meaningful play.

My energetic kiddos love to learn through varied teaching methods. They love playing with the blocks, puppets, and dress up. They really like to dance and paint too. Working with this group of children is so exciting because everything is new and intriguing to them.

My Project

With a TPT card, I will be able to set up projects and independent self-checking assignments to help all students to meet their individual needs.

These independent centers will help further their learning, so each child will reach their their full potential.

One group will read stories from leveled then work together to create a retelling storyboard. While another groups will enrich specific reading, math, or science skills in self checking programs to strengthen their mastery level.

By individualizing student assignments students will continually grow and learn how to work with others and independently.
