My students are great! Most families in our school are low-income families; we are a Title I school. Many of my students come to school hungry everyday!
I have first graders in my classroom who speak English, Spanish, Swedish, and Arabic - totaling nine students learning a new language and all of them learning the basics of the reading, writing, and math.
I also have 2 developmentally delayed students. We are a diverse school. I love teaching and making a difference at the beginning stages of education!
My Project
Many of my students come to school hungry! I'd love to be able to give them something to eat! Of course most of the time that means giving everyone a treat as it would be rude to feed a few and not all!
We are going nut free in first grade!
I have a student with a severe nut allergy this year! ALL of the first grade teachers have agreed to go nut free this year! WOW what a team! It would be much safer for him if we had some safe go to snacks in our classroom for all students to eat!
Fruit snacks, crackers, goldfish, cereal, pretzels...are all nut free SAFE foods to have in our classroom.
