My students need 40 Spanish and English books such as "En la Orillas del Rio Plum (On the Banks of Plum Creek)" to read at their level.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
On the third day of school one of my students asked me, "Teacher, don't you have more books in Spanish?" I felt horrible that the answer was no! I am a third grade teacher at a dual immersion school where the students are learning Spanish and English simultaneously. My classroom is filled with eager learners who are fascinated by the stories that fill the pages of books.
The obstacle in my classroom is that I am a first year teacher. I have not had the years experience to accumulate a classroom library for my students. I want them to love reading and they already do, but unfortunately I do not have the monetary funds to provide them with the books that they deserve to have on the shelf!
With the help of donors I will be able to provide my students with the books in Spanish (and more in English) that they have requested from me. They want to read and with help I will be able to give them what they want. The last thing a teacher wants to do is tell her students that she doesn't have any books for them to read. It was heartbreaking. These books will excite my students and give them what they deserve!
Please help me with giving this gift to my students. They already have the passion and love for reading and with your help it will be possible to give them the tools (books) they need to explore the wonderful world of literature (and improve both their Spanish and English reading skills!)
