I need help covering the cost of registration so I can attend a 2-day kindergarten conference in order to strengthen my math, literacy and STEM teaching practices.

My Students

Every year, I get about 25 newly-arrived immigrant students from Vietnam. My students bring joy and a smile to my life daily. They come from homes where parents are determined to do the best they can to help their child be successful. My goal as a teacher is to do everything I can to help ensure that success. Consequently, I strive to constantly learn and grow.

As a teacher in a high-poverty district, I believe my students deserve equal access to strong teaching that is grounded in current research.

I know that in order to cultivate a growth mindset in my children, that work needs to begin with me first. Attending this training will allow me to learn best practices from other teachers and experts in the field.

My Project

I am requesting the opportunity to attend a 2-day Kindergarten conference. While my district often offers literacy and math training, we never have the chance to attend training that is specific to teaching young children in ways that are fun, engaging and effective.

This project will cover the registration fee so I can attend this 2-day conference for kindergarten teachers.

At the conference, I plan on attending workshops on how to better teach reading and writing and strengthen my STEM teaching practices.

Attending this training will help fuel my passion and keep my practice fresh. I look forward to learning from others who are equally passionate about the work they do with young children. Rather than re-inventing the wheel, I want to learn from others' best practices, as well as share what is working for me.
