My Students
My students love to learn in a fun, engaging, and meaningful setting! I teach in a district that has a high desire to challenge our students to be the best they can be. My fourth graders rise up to the challenge every day and enjoy learning while having fun. In my classroom, students strive to not only to be excellent students, but also to be role models in our community.
Learning should be fun, and we have a lot of fun while learning in our classroom!
Our room is comprised of 30 learners and leaders (this includes me). My students are incredible learners and even better leaders. Their professional development goal for me this year is to teach me now to "Floss" (which is a dance move that I just can't get mastered), but they have never one time given up on teaching me and I they know I will never give up on teaching them!
My Project
I need funding to help get me to the conference, Teach Your Heart Out, because I know it will help me grow as a teacher, which will help my students grow as learners. The workshop will include many inspiring educators as presenters that will be focusing on what I need as a fourth grade teacher. I follow most of the presenters on social media, and can't wait to learn from incredible educators that inspire me to be a better leader in the classroom.
The new ideas I will learn will help me be a better leader in the classroom and will engage my students to be better learners as well.
After 12 years of teaching, it's time to add some new tools to my belt. Education is always changing, and so must I as an educator. The best way to lead by example, is by showing my students that I am a student and learner just like they are and that we should constantly strive to be better than we already are.
