My Students

My students are learning from home using whatever technology they can get their hands on. Students meet with me once a week via Zoom, and they access their assignments in Google Classroom.

Individual circumstances vary greatly from household to household.

Some of my students haven't left their homes since the governor gave the "shelter in place" order; some have started working thirty-hour weeks; some have become the primary caregivers for younger siblings.

I don't know what will happen in the fall, but for now, taking care of my students and providing the best distance learning opportunities possible are my number one responsibilities.

My Project

Online teaching is more than just transferring classroom units into online assignments. Teachers need to re-imagine how to best deliver lessons and opportunities to students. Thank goodness for Teachers Pay Teachers.

I am requesting two gift cards so that I can purchase material that will help me to create dynamic online assignments for students as they finish out the 2019-2020 school year at home.

I am particularly interested in finding ideas for short stories, crime fiction, and graphic novels. I could also use a little help with my short unit on "The Diary of Anne Frank."
