Help me give my students snacks for our classroom pantry for students to help focus and learn to the best of their ability. Supporting this will help students have full bellies that help their brains ready to learn!
My students in Massachusetts are a part of our +STEPS program. +STEPS stands for: Positive Social Thinking and Executive Planning Support. My students often times need instruction on organization, planning out a task, self-regulation strategies, social learning skills and positive modeling.
These students are living with high functioning autism and benefit from having a flexible learning environment with opportunities to have edible earns.
Some of my students are less fortunate and do not have equal economic opportunities. My students are incredibly talented and intelligent but often times need sensory regulation movement to focus on being successful in their academic studies. My students are supported by me in an inclusion classroom setting throughout the day and use my room for academic support, social skills learning and scheduled or earned break time. During this break time, snacks are a great way to motivate or stay focused!
My Project
The materials earned from this project will go towards supporting students who are in need of food that may not have it elsewhere. Students benefit from an oral sensory break, having snacks allow just that!
Please consider donating to our classroom pantry to help students motivated to learn while allowing them an important break a part of their day.
Providing the opportunity for snacks allows students something to look forward to as well as to help them focus on their learning. Providing this resource to students will help the classroom run smoother with motivators and reinforcements that have proven to be effective for students.
