Tap that App! Tablets in Kindergarten

My students need Dragon Touch 7A tablets to access fun learning apps during small group center time. The TabSuit cases will protect the tablet from little fingers.

My Students

"Let kids do what they do best: play!" Children need to be children. They laugh, learn, and want to explore the world around them. My students enjoy learning to read. I feel with the right mixture of play, structured lessons, and tools; they will love school! They are then motivated to learn.

We giggle, play, and have fun at school.

Happy students are motivated to do their best. They want to learn to read, and I want to teach them how to read. There are 66 students in our kindergarten program shared between 3 teachers. We work together like wheels in a cog in our effort to get our students reading. It is an amazing way to educate kindergarteners. The students who have more reading skills are pushed onward and upward; those who may need extra support are given just that. They are ability grouped with kids that have similar reading skills. They attend 7 different learning rotations where we practice reading skills, sight words, numbers, and learning games. We do formative and end of term assessments to frequently adjust their ability groups when needed. This allows us to keep each kindergarten student challenged and engaged. It is wonderful to see under privileged kids have hope for their future. I tell them, "I believe in YOU!"

My Project

Kindergarten students don't hide their excitement. When each small group sits down at my "tap that app" learning center you can bet they will squealing with joy. They get so excited about technology! Can you imagine how ecstatic they will be to start playing a learning game on our Dragon 7A tablets? The orange case will help keep the tablets safe. My students will use the Dragon 7A tablets to access apps that will help reinforce letter/vowel sounds, simple sight words, write short stories, and use drawing tools. We can access e-books, and implement age appropriate technology in our classroom. They can also access the math apps. This will help with their counting skills, basic addition, and basic subtraction. Imagine their excitement when they arrive at my center and see that they get to play with technology. I work with 66 kindergarten students everyday. My students are eager to learn and the tablets that I have requested will truly enhance their educational experience.

Having Dragon 7A tablets in our kindergarten program will make an important difference by introducing technology to young students who will be using technology the rest of the educational careers.

The more familiar they are at using technology the easier it will be for them to navigate the use of educational apps and researching information online. The orange cases will teach them responsibility. I can implement age appropriate technology in my classroom to motivate them to learn.
