This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 28 students on different academic levels. They love the arts integration curriculum approach because it allows them to use music, dance, and drama to learn. The student body is very diverse and the school in located in Las Vegas. We are constantly moving in our classroom. We also use a curriculum based on Common Core. Our administration fosters a love of learning through the arts in the creative process. This helps the students and teachers make connections between their objectives through the arts.

My Project

Many of my students don't have computers at home to complete their reading and math assignments. I only have two student desktops in my classroom. Our school has laptop carts but they have to be shared between four classrooms. I know that having Fire tablets will encourage students to complete their Ticket to Read assignments during their reading centers and Tenmarks assignments during our math block.

I also have students work in groups to research science and math topics.

Having these tablets on hand will facilitate them with the research process. I have a classroom WIX site which I use to communicate with them. The tablet will also give them more ownership of the website.
