Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from a southeast school in Chicago. Most of my students come from low-income houses. I am a teacher of students with disabilities including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional issues. I teach the subjects of math, science, and writing.
We all have unique learning needs and styles.
We also learn in our own way and at our own pace. I must learn to adapt lessons to meet many learners' needs every day. I want to be able to improve my teaching practices.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting funds for a PD and a trip to learn about creativity in the classroom. This is a topic in which I have not attended the previous PD for and I’m very excited about the opportunity to learn about this subject. I feel like I have equity in my classroom but checking yourself and your practices are the best way to learn and grow as a teacher.
I want to be the best teacher I can be and learning each day is best practices.
I am very excited for an opportunity to learn with teachers from other states about their perspective and an important topic such as creativity in the classroom.
