Help me give my students bar stools and cushions to use our standing table for the flexible seating choice! Our old stools broke and the kids cannot use the seating area! Please help me remedy this!
Students in my room range from special needs to gifted within the walls of the same classroom. Our school's free and reduced lunch percentages were high enough that the school is now a "no-cost" school for breakfast and lunch. Many students come from low-income families and will only gain these experiences within the classroom.
Many of my students have not yet discovered the magic of education!
Students often forget that we can read and write because it is FUN! My students rarely see the magic in a math problem just waiting to be solved!
Many of my students need to move around in order to learn in their best environment. Often, these students have spent time in classrooms in which they are constantly told to "sit down and be quiet." I want them to experience a classroom in which they can move around and get excited about what we are learning and experience it together.
My Project
When we first began using flexible seating, I was curious to see which seating areas would become the most popular. Students have the option between stability balls, cushions in the floor, regular desk seating, a couch, and a standing table. Students ended up loving the standing table. Having the option to stand to complete work or sit at a tall chair was intriguing for students. Unfortunately, the bar stools that I originally purchased both broke. Students are very disappointed that the table is no longer an option. Thank you for your consideration in helping me replenish this seating area so that students can once again work where they are most comfortable.
