My students need a C-Reader Pen to allow them access to rich text.

The students in my school face a variety of challenges, yet come to school each day ready to learn. Students in my learning support classroom have a variety of disabilities including autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, and behavioral/emotional disabilities.
We are a diverse, high poverty school and 100% of our students receive a free lunch and 68% of our students are minorities.
My students' academic levels vary widely. While some are at or near their grade level, others are two to three years behind academically. It is essential that I am able to maximize their education and provide individualized instruction. These resources will also be shared with students in other special education classrooms and regular education classrooms.
Students with reading and other disabilities often have limited access to reading grade level books and stories independently due to their reading level. While reading stories at their level is important to improve their reading skills, having access to grade level text that stimulates creative thinking and exposes them to new ideas is also important.
Students will be able to engage in high-interest text in ways that have never been possible for them.
Often the rich, interesting, and fun stories their peers are reading are too difficult for them to read independently. This can be disheartening for those students and limit their engagement in reading. Our students would like to have access to C-Pen Readers ( that have the ability to read text by scanning the words on a page and reading them aloud. The reader pen will be available to any student in the building who needs support accessing grade level text.
