My students need the necessary pieces for creating their own interactive notebooks. Copy paper, colored pencils and composition notebooks are great tools for creating personalized textbooks for students to reference in 5th grade and beyond!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are amazing! They come ready to work and hungry for knowledge despite their daily challenges. Our fantastic fifth-graders spend time learning in a variety of ways that include computer labs, interactive science activities, manipulative notebook projects, online research and development, and creative movement.
As a whole, our students at King conquer challenges both inside and outside of school.
Our families are in a lower socio-economic class than other surrounding neighborhoods. As a result, the student challenges range from academic needs to the most basic human needs. These resilient children inspire us all and will become the next generation of driven achievers that will shape the minds of future students for years to come.
My Project
Textbooks can be anything but interesting. So, in 5th-grade, we make our own! Composition notebooks become the foundation for an interactive platform that students use to create a unique, personalized textbooks.
The copy paper will become printed resources like fold-ables and games for activity-based learning, the glue will make sure everything sticks together, and the colored pencils will brighten up the work and provide a personal sense of ownership for each student.
It is truly amazing to see the student creativity that emerges in these notebooks. Help our students use these resources to make Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Writing, and Bell-Work a bit more interesting.
