My students need a document camera so they are better able to visualize and understand some of the military memorabilia presented in class.

As the saying goes, 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' We are currently without the ability to have that picture because our classroom is not equipped with the proper equipment. We hope you can change that.
My Navy JROTC students, or cadets, are awesome.
They come from all walks of life. Each cadet has his or her own successes and challenges. Collectively, these 206 cadets are a team! They all deserve to have every opportunity to succeed, not just in school, but more importantly in life. My students attend an inter-city urban school, but their behavior is far above what is typically found in such an environment. As their Naval Science Instructor, I am impressed and amazed by their dedication on a daily basis. They have chosen to be Navy JROTC cadets for many reasons, but the one thing they all have in common is their desire to make a difference in their community and our world. They have chosen to be challenged now so they can succeed later.
We need a document camera in our classroom to bring 3-D objects to life in front of the classroom on a screen which is visible to all. The Navy JROTC program has many opportunities to barrow historical items and use them in the classroom to enhance the learning experience. Because of the historical value and delicate nature of some of these items, we can not just pass them around the class. And holding them up in the front of the class often has little impact on cadets which are not close enough to grasp all the details. Having a document camera to show these items, in detail, to all our cadets would be invaluable.
Your contribution to this project will have a lasting impact on all 206 of our cadets this year, as well as thousands of other cadets in the years to come.
Please help us to ensure this project is a successful one. We want to continue to "Build Our Future, One Cadet at a Time."
