Taking Photos and Publishing Our Awesome Artwork with an iPad
My students need a classroom iPad so that they can digitally take a picture of their artwork so that it post it on sites like Artsonia and publish their own art.
"Look at my art" is a phrase I hear quite a bit and it is important that their art is seen. I am a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges or trauma experiences they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Having fun with the creating process and seeing the art piece that they create, lights an excitement and pride within the students.
Art is a subject that can allow students feel successful and try new skills. It can help students to continue to learn about various topics and worldly connections through hands on projects.
My Project
Having the an iPad will allow for the students to publish their work on sites like Artsonia where parents and guardians can see their published pieces. The classroom will have a publishing center so that the kids can take a picture of their own art and present their art for others to enjoy. Then my job would be to make sure the photo is clear and focused so that it can be down loaded to the site so parents and guardians can see the art piece. If parents or guardians choose, they may order items such as cups our note cards with their child's art printed on to it. Many times kids at my school need to see what the outcome may be so that they have a goal to create an end product that will help build a sense of inner pride.
The students are very wise when it comes to technology and I'm excited for them to see how an iPad can preserve and share their creations.
Not only is it fun and developmentally important to create art, but having an audience to share and explain your process is equally important. By being able to gift them with technology that will make it easier to share their work in a special manner, it will encourage the young artists to continue to work hard and be creative.
