Our second-grade math classroom is a place where students develop mathematical skills and a love for learning. Students in our classroom solve, create, and explore to master math standards. Our students are special because they support each other and are motivated to succeed.
We work to challenge ourselves and each other and persevere through difficult mathematical tasks.
Our students are eager to learn and thrive with learning that is project-based and hands-on. I love the opportunity to watch our students grow as mathematicians each and every day.
My Project
With COVID-19 changing many hands-on learning opportunities this year, we are excited to take our learning outside and get materials into the hands of students. We will be starting our map unit and students need compasses to practice working with maps. We will be mapping our playground and finding fossils using our new learning tools.
Hands-on learning is so valuable and having the opportunity to learn outside is extra special.
Students will also have the chance to work in the garden so we are in need of new kids garden gloves. Students will be maintaining the garden this spring to help it be prepared for future crops.
