Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our world is changing so fast and our need for technology is vital to help these 8th graders succeed!
Our students need your help!
Our children are raised within a very urban environment. They strive to learn and are hungry for knowledge in order to achieve success. These children need increased access to technology and handy resources to reinforce skills, in order to be competitive.
Our 8th grade is comprised of amazing students, many of whom come from bilingual households and receive free or reduced price lunch.
Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school and college.
My Project
We have limited computers within our classrooms. 8th grade students have a constant need to expand their knowledge through research in order to stay ahead. We are regularly working on research papers and are beginning to write thesis papers. I really want our students to be on par with 8th graders from other areas of the country. My students will use the laptop to research specific topics, access supporting research, and write thesis papers. The knowledge gained by this access will be limitless for these children. The Bluetooth speaker will allow the entire class to benefit from the increased access to information gained by the laptop.
