Taking Note in Color

Help me give my students a better learning experience by providing them with good surfaces to work on as well as to learn from.

My Students

The students I have the privilege of working with in my science classes are inquisitive and very eager to learn and explore. While they are primarily in low-income homes they come to school ready to learn. They are easily engaged with hands-on activities that encourage their problem solving skills and cooperation, as well as their ability to read and follow multiple step directions.

My students get excited when it is time to learn new concepts and ideas.

I offer several components to their learning experience including hands-on activities, multimedia activities, and traditional teaching techniques.

Using multicolor techniques I teach note-writing skills throughout my science courses to prepare students for ways to take notes and best practice for when they move forward to the next step of their education.

My Project

The use of a whiteboard in my classroom is almost a daily thing. I utilize multiple methods of teaching, however I do my best to prepare students for college including demonstrating to them different ways to take notes. As I teach, I show them how to take notes over specific topics using different colored markers.

By donating to this project you will be allowing the students to learn in a way that increases their attention, participation, and helps prepare them for their future and how they will perform in higher education situations.

Our current setup is not ideal and does not give the students the best writing surface to be able to participate. In some of my classes we do math as well and I demonstrate to the class how to complete the problems and even have them come up and work some. Student demonstration is used often in my classroom as well. Large dry erase boards will significantly help my students daily!
