My Students

I teach in a low-income urban school, where the students are present almost every day (with a 98.4% attendance rate). They are culturally and academically diverse. Our student population is 65% Chinese, with 50% in the bilingual program.

The Annual Conference for Middle Level Education will give me the unique opportunity to bring new understanding and skills to help my 7th and 8th grade students find academic and personal success in school.

This conference is focused on middle level grades, addressing the unique needs of students who are transitioning between elementary and high school. These are the students I serve each day, and with your help, I can become a better teacher for them.

My Project

Having just completed my 10th year of teaching in the middle level grades, I am looking for a conference that will brighten the spark I already feel for my students and our academic journey together. The AMLE2018 Annual Conference for Middle Level Education offers the opportunity for me to engage in sessions that will have an impact on all facets of my teaching life.

AMLE2018 will provide me with tools to create a culture that makes a difference, high impact classroom strategies, and teacher leadership that makes a difference.

These strands are all closely related to my school's biannual school improvement plan. As a member of our Instructional Leadership Team, I would like to bring these tools and strategies back to my students and my middle level teaching partners.
