Help me give my students , who have been resilient after experiencing devastating losses after Hurricane Michael, the opportunity to play on and explore our classroom instruments, and increase their musical knowledge as well as interest!
This is my first year teaching music, but I have gotten to know many of my students over the years as an ESE Intervention Teacher at this amazing K-5 school. Many of the students that were in first grade my first year teaching are now moving to middle school. I have many of the sweet babies I started with in Kindergarten in the fifth grade this year as a music teacher.
These children are bright, kind, and eager to make an impact in their community, even after going through the experience of Hurricane Michael.
They are helpful and love to take on new challenges! It will be amazing this year to bring out their confidence and see where we go!
My Project
These Orff instrument stands will be more stable as well as portable than our current set up and will help our students more easily interact with these amazing instruments. Many of the stands that have been in our music classroom for many years are unstable, falling apart, and are held together at the moment with duct tape. (It fixes everything, but not permanently!)
Our students love the opportunity to interact with our classroom Orff instruments and these stands will make our Orff classroom area more stable and readily accessible to our students!
The students in our second and third-grade classes are introduced to the staff and to music reading using Orff instruments in our music classroom. They love learning on these instruments and this is a valuable asset to our music classroom for fostering students' interest and love for music!
